Can I disable reports for specific Categories ?

Last updated on 23 Mar, 2026

Yes!

The Category Settings feature allows you to disable the creation of cases and reports of a specific category.

To manage this, please click "Settings"  and "Categories"
Once in the Category Settings page, you can activate or deactivate the monitoring of  the relevant category.

For an interactive walk-through, click the blue flashing circles below.

Please Note: This feature will override any other settings made such as Rulesets and Enabled Threat Intelligence feeds. As long as a category is disabled, no cases or reports will be created for this category. The only exception to this rule is manually created cases, no matter if they are created using the user interface or inbound email reports.

The Category Setting is account-wide.

Filter by feed and category

For more granular control, you can use Feed Category Settings to suppress case creation for a specific feed and category combination, without disabling the category entirely.

To add a filter:

  1. Click Settings, then click Categories.

  2. Scroll to the Feed Category Settings section.

  3. Select a feed from the Select Feed dropdown.

  4. Select a category from the Select Category dropdown.

  5. Click Add.

The feed and category pair is added to the list. iQ Abuse Manager will no longer create cases from that feed for that category.

To remove a filter, return to the Feed Category Settings section and click Remove next to the entry.

Note: Feed Category Settings are account-wide. If you need to suppress cases for a specific zone, use Rulesets instead.
